Paleokastritsa – Παλαιοκαστρίτσα

Paleokastritsa has long been considered one of the most beautiful villages in Corfu, The journey from Corfu airport will take you 25 km north west to the long winding road that follow the contours of the coastal bays that make up this delightful area of the Island. Snorkelling and swimming in one of the six natural coves of sand and shingle beaches is a delight. With its varied array of accommodation, bars restaurants and tavernas Paleokastritsia caters for families  of all ages

There is an array of accommodation spread out along the main road that caters for all types of visitor wanting a laid back holiday who just want to relax and take in the natural beauty of the place.

Food & Drink
There are plenty of Tavernas, restaurants, souvlaki grill rooms and café bars, and there are a few mini markets and gift shops which are dotted around here and there.

Beach & Swimming
There are no less than six natural coves of sand and shingle beaches with crystal clear water ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

There are boat trips to other beaches up and down the coast or you can hire a boat yourself and explore in your own time.

You can take the road up to the village of Lakones and walk around the narrow streets. From there the road leads to the Bella Vista hotel and viewpoint.

The panoramic views from here are astounding as you look down over the bays of Paleokastritsa and are said to be amongst the best in the Mediterranean. From here you can see the Byzantine monastery on the hill. This can be reached from the main beach road at the end of the resort.


The 12th century monastery of Theotokos lies at the north most point of Paleokastritsa . It stands on a sheer hillside full of wild trees and olive trees. In one of the cells in the monastery, a museum has been founded where holy and precious relics of the monastery are housed.
