Ipsos, Resort Overview

Ipsos – Ύψος

Ispos lies on the east coast and consists mainly of a long straight road which stretches down towards the turning for the long and ascending winding road that leads to the north east of the island. There is a small harbour at the beginning of the beach where fishermen and small boats dock to fill up with supplies before heading off to their next port of call. A lively resort catering for all ages.

Corfu Airport
Travel Time   20 minutes by car or taxi

While there are no large hotels chains here, the resort has an array of small hotels, apartments, studios and room to rent.

Food & Drink
There are lots of amenities here including mini markets and souvenir shops but if it’s nightlife you want then look no further. The resort boasts many bars and a couple of nightclubs for those wishing to dance all night through to the early morning.

Beach & Swimming
The beach is long and narrow and is a mixture of sand and shingle. The busy main road separates it from the shops, Tavernas and café bars. There are all the usual water sports including a scuba diving club for beginners and more experienced diver.

If its culture you are after, then walk to the bottom of the road through Pirgi. As you turn left up the hill, you will see a sign for the village of Agios Markos on the left hand side. A 20 minute walk will lead you to the village where you can explore the way many of the locals still live today. Pirgi is at the end of the long straight road known as the ‘Ipsos strip’ and was originally created as an overspill for the booming tourism invasion of years gone by.

Ipsos used to be a favourite for the Club 18-30 in the 1980’s. Although not as lively as way back then it still has much to offer and is enjoyed by returning families, couples and the younger crowd alike.
