Dassia – Δασιά

Just 15 km north of Corfu airport, Dassia was one of the islands first resorts to welcome tourists back in 1952. With a modern cosmopolitan mix of 4 star hotel accommodation as well as many studios and apartments the resort is well placed to serve the most demanding of tourist needs. Dassia has a good mixture of bars, tavernas and restaurants and its 5 minute proximaty to the beach make this an ideal holiday location.

The large 4 star hotels of the Dassia Chandris and the Corfu Chandris are here and bring many tourists to the area with the option of an all-inclusive package.

There are many smaller hotels, apartments and studios to suit all budgets for the family, as a couple or a group for those looking for a more independent holiday.

Bars, Restaurants, Tavernas and Supermarkets
The main road through Dassia a long one lined with Tavernas, restaurants, bars, mini markets and souvenir shops.

Beach & Swimming & Water Sports
The beach is a five minute walk from the road and is a long bay consisting of sand and shingle. The water is shallow and very safe for young children. It has been awarded a Blue flag for excellence and boasts an array of beach activities.

Water skiing and sports, boat hire, sun beds, paragliding, scuba diving and boat trips can all be found here as well as beach café bars, restaurants and shops.

There is also a mountain bike shop where you can hire a bike and explore the surrounding area.

The village of Kato Korakiana is nearby for those interested in the traditional Greek way of life and is well worth a visit.

Dassia was one of the first to welcome tourists as far back as 1952 at the Club Mediterranee when accommodation was in circular huts, made from straw, which were dotted around the olive groves near to the beach.

In the 60’s the club gained in popularity and Dassia became one of the first official resorts in Corfu in the early 1970’s.
