Accommodation
Kassipoi is well served with a varied mix of hotels, apartments, rooms to let and private villas,

Bars, Restaurants, Tavernas and Supermarkets
There are many Tavernas, restaurants, cafes and bars. There are also plenty of mini markets and tourist shops selling everything you will need on your holiday.

The harbour front is delightful with boats bobbing up and down with the gentle ripple of the water. The shaded waterside Tavernas are a joy to sit in underneath the grapevines and trees, watching the world go by.

Beach & Swimming & Water Sports
There are several small beach coves here covered with large white pebbles. The sea is dark blue; it descends rapidly and deepens quickly as you enter which makes for superb snorkelling and scuba diving. Small boat hire and commercial boat trips are in good supply also.

History
Kassiopi can boast a history that goes back over 2,000 years. Being a strategic port between Italy and the Greek mainland King Nero of Rome stayed here and built Roman baths. It had a workshop that made its own currency which is a sign of prosperity and power of that time.

There is a castle which was built in Byzantine times as a fortification against pirates and is now being renovated to its former glory. Kassiopi has been invaded by the Turks and has been occupied by the Despot of Epirus.

The old church stands proud amongst the shops and houses on the main paved area leading down to the harbour. A sign of Greek tradition not ready to give way to the tourists who invade every summer.
